The palace of Ardashir Bᾱbakann, also known as the Atashkadeh was built next to a picturesque pond that was fed by a natural spring, perhaps in connection with Persian goddess of water and growth, Anahita.
Among Iranians it is famous by Atashkadeh because they related it to that ‘’Atash ‘’ means ‘’Fire ‘’.
Qal ‘eh dokhtar:
The name of the castle implies it was dedicated to the goddess Anahita to whom the term ‘’ maiden ‘’ refers. It was built by Ardeshir in AD 209.
The palace contain many features of Sasanian’s architecture; long halls, arches, domes, recessed windows, and stairways. When you visiting this castle, feel that you are travelling in the past.
